DPS created a hybrid solution that was right for the client, offering 24 hour turnaround work for time sensitive document, while cross training 11 personnel.

The EDGAR ("Electronic Data Gathering Analysis and Retrieval") System permits filers to submit their financial information as either ASCII, Reverse ASCII or HTML formatted documents. All SEC filers must file electronically by means of the EDGAR system.

EDGAR supports and has an effect on three interrelated, groups:

• The filer - who must prepare their financial documents to be filed via EDGAR.
• The SEC - who has modernized their record keeping to be more efficient and perform more detailed analysis of information supplied by EDGAR.
• The public - whose access to the information filed with the SEC has significantly improved through the EDGAR system.

Our job was to work with the filer to format these documents that came in bundles of unpredictable volume.

These documents needed to be turned around within 12 hours, and the job would have to be perfectly formatted (with literally no errors). The jobs used to come in during the evenings (5PM EST – United States) and they would be formatted and returned to the client by 8AM (EST – United States). Regardless of whether the job had 150 pages, or 1000 pages, the work would have to be turned over within that allotted time.
